Popper Quesadillas with Jalapeño
Among my numerous recipes inspired by jalapeño poppers are my Jalapeño Popper Rolls, Jalapeño Popper Dip, and Jalapeño Popper Stuffed Chicken. Why not expand the list by including another recipe? Together with the cream cheese combination and bacon, these quesadillas give you the taste and crunch of the jalapeño pepper with every bite. I’ll explain how to pick jalapeño peppers with varying degrees of heat if the peppers frighten you a little.

Ingredients for Quesadillas
Tortillas: Flour tortillas work best for quesadillas. If you are inclined, you can even bake your own fresh tortillas!
Bacon: This recipe calls for just four slices of bacon. You can use the remaining bacon for additional appetizers, such as my Cheesy Bacon Chicken Pinwheels and Bacon and Cheese Dip.
Jalapeño Peppers: Every bite of these quesadillas has a hint of jalapeño flavor. Below, I go over how to pick jalapeño peppers based on your tolerance for heat.
Seasonings: The filling was seasoned with standard ingredients such as salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.

How to Prepare Quesadillas with Jalapeño Popper
To begin preparing this appetizer, first fry the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Combine the cheesy filling and set aside while the bacon cooks. For the last few minutes of the bacon’s cooking, add the diced and seeded jalapeño peppers to the skillet and cook with the bacon.
The bacon should then be taken out of the skillet and left to drain on a paper towel. To the cream cheese mixture, add the jalapeño peppers. Add the chopped bacon to the cheese mixture when it has cooled slightly.
Now that the filling is prepared, the quesadillas may be prepared. Put a tortilla in the same skillet as the peppers and bacon. Fold the tortilla in half after spreading about half a cup of the contents onto the quesadilla. Cook for two to three minutes on each side over medium heat. Continue with the other tortilla. Slice and serve.
Can I Use an Air Fryer to Prepare These Quesadillas?
Indeed! Follow the first six steps to prepare the jalapeño popper quesadillas in an air fryer. Next, cover one side of the tortilla with the cream cheese mixture. After folding it in half, carefully coat the quesadilla with oil or use cooking spray. (To avoid breaking, you might wish to warm the tortilla for a few seconds before stuffing and folding.) Put the quesadilla in the air fryer basket and cook it at 400°F for about 8 minutes.
If you haven’t got one yet, I suggest the Ninja Air Fryer. It produces more reliable results and is also easier to use. However, you can move up a size if necessary.
