Ingredients

  • Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 4 Tbsp Whole grain bread crumbs
  • Tbsp Sugar
  • Tbsp Ground cinnamon
  • 4 Tbsp Low fat cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • Slices Whole wheat bread
  • Strawberries hulled and thinly sliced
  • 3 Tbsp Butter
  • Powdered sugar and whipped cream for garnish
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  • Whisk the milk and eggs together in a medium bowl. Put aside.
  • Put the cinnamon, sugar, and bread crumbs in a small basin. Fill a shallow basin with it. Put aside.
  • Mix the honey and cream cheese in a small bowl until smooth.
  • Apply half of the cream cheese mixture on two slices of bread. Place four to six strawberry slices on top of one slice of cream cheese, leaving a 1/4-inch border. Place the other slice of bread, cream cheese side down, on top. Firmly push the edges together, working your way around the entire border, until it is completely sealed.
  • Continue with the remaining bread, strawberries, and cream cheese mixture.
  • Dredge in the bread crumb mixture after completely coating in the egg mixture.
  • Melt the butter in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Toast should be brown after about three minutes of cooking.
  • Cook until golden brown and crisp after flipping. Continue with the remaining toast.
  • Top with a dab of whipped cream and powdered sugar. Add maple syrup on top.
Keyword CREAM CHEESE STRAWBERRY STUFFED FRENCH TOAST

French toast stuffed with cream cheese and strawberries

I can’t recall the precise location of my first encounter with stuffed French toast. The memory is a total blur; I think I was so happy that everything temporarily stopped working. I do remember that I was on vacation in a pleasant, tropical place. Making this meal always makes me think of a posh place, and this recipe is definitely fancy. It resembles a breakfast pastry and cheesecake combined into a bowl of syrup.

We will harvest fresh strawberries from the patch whenever possible. Farm-fresh strawberries have a lot more strawberry flavour and are considerably sweeter. If we can’t get them here yet, we will attempt to buy them at the farmers’ market. A freshly harvested strawberry is the best thing ever.

How To Make Cream Cheese Strawberry Stuffed French Toast

I am aware that assembling this must have been really challenging. If you’re trying to impress your guests, I’d go with that assumption. In actuality, it isn’t that difficult to execute. In essence, you will spread two pieces of bread with the cream cheese mixture.

Place the fruit in the centre and assemble the slices as you would a typical sandwich. Sealing the edges is the most challenging part. All you need to do is shape the bread to enclose the delicious fruit and cream cheese. From that point on, it’s exactly like your typical, everyday French toast.

Now that I’ve created this variation, I feel like I can accept “normal” French toast. You just put it in a frying pan to brown on both sides after soaking it on both sides in your egg/spice mixture.

For this one, add a little powdered sugar, syrup, or whipped cream on top of everything, or all three, and you’re done!

Filling French toast

One Saturday night, John and I were at home. Since there was nothing on TV, we happened to be watching Bobby Flay’s Throwdown, which is about the best French toast. You should try that recipe, John said. I attempted to make the renowned French toast from La Isla, but the recipe required a number of components that were difficult to locate.
